I've done 1 MD1CS003 PSA, dated 12/2020. It was version 035, which is a newer date but older software. Versions 037 and 039 are the newer (locked) versions.

Yes, that's fine. I've done one before and noticed that some ECU files are only half the size. There shouldn't be any issues.

KT200 will read and write BMW ZF 8HP via OBD and bench, but this protocol is not for cloning, only for tuning.
KT200 can read/write ZF 8hp (OBD) Only flash. You need read/write Eeprom, isn and vin too.
Read/write flash+coding data, but only the same tcu, only for chip tuning, need write codding data too.bench or obd2.

It will write the file even if the checksum is wrong. If you don't have a full reading, you risk bricking the ECU, so be careful. Ask your tuner for advice on what to do. Normally, the tool does this automatically.

The KTM bench tool skips the OTP protection area, which is why it writes successfully.
The manual solution is to use WinOLS. While Swiftec is expensive, it is not always perfect. The checksum from the tool works fine if it compares with orginal file.
